Riccarton is a well known suburb of Christchurch. It is due west of the city centre, separated from it by the historic Hagley Park. Upper Riccarton is to the west of Riccarton. Riccarton is located around two main roads that lead to and from the city of Christchurch.
The renowned Canterbury University is located within Riccarton and is the hub for all the university student rental properties. The newly renovated Westfield mall is located on the corner of Riccarton Rd and Clarence St and contains an extended selection of excellent shops.
Upper Riccarton is a significant suburb of Christchurch. It is due west of Riccarton. Upper Riccarton is made up of residential property, retail and education areas. Within Riccarton is major intersection known as "Church Corner" (the intersection of Riccarton, Main South and Yaldhurst Roads). Riccarton High School is located close to Church Corner.
